The mission of The Simulations Center is to reinforce social science concepts through the use of hands-on experiential learning experiences. The goal is to provide students with a better understanding of: U.S. national government functions, global inter-connectivity, and the current geopolitical and economic environment through realistic simulations where students make the decisions and realize the intertwined consequences of their actions.
The Center is developing local business relationships to support its efforts and to provide potential future opportunities to student participants. Through outreach with local businesses, the Center looks to create partnerships in education where student participants may become future employees via internships or cooperatives.
The Simulations Center was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2015 but has unofficially conducted simulations since 2000 and has three consecutive years in the classroom instructing the preparatory curriculum and moderating simulations in local Kansas City schools.
